Privacy Policy
In short: Dose Minder has no servers, accounts, ads or analytics. What you enter in the app is stored on your iPhone and, if you use iCloud, in your own iCloud account. The developer cannot see your data.
Who is responsible
Dose Minder is developed by Jose Fidalgo Hidalgo. For any privacy question, write to soporte@doseminderapp.com.
What data the app keeps
- Patients: name, date of birth (optional), color and time zone.
- Medications: name, dosage, form, instructions, schedule, start and end dates and, if you enter them, the doctor's name and ID.
- Dose log: which dose was marked as taken or skipped, at what time and, for shared patients, who marked it.
- Settings: for example the snooze minutes and the name people you share with see.
This is health data. You enter it yourself, and it is only used to make the app work: showing doses, reminding you and calculating adherence.
Where it is stored
- On your iPhone. The data lives in the app's storage on your device, shared with its widget.
- In your iCloud. If iCloud is on, the app syncs your data with the private database of your iCloud account (Apple's CloudKit) so it is on your other devices. That database belongs to your account: the developer has no access to it. Apple handles that data under its privacy policy.
There is no other destination. The app does not send data to the developer's servers or to third parties, does not sell it and does not use it for advertising or tracking.
Sharing with family
If you share a patient, that patient's data (or the medicines you choose) is stored in a shared space in your iCloud that the people you invite can access, with the permission you choose. They see the medicines, schedules, history and the name of whoever marked each dose. You decide whom to invite, and you can remove someone or stop sharing at any time. When sharing stops, each person keeps a copy of what they had on their own iPhone, as the app explains.
What invited people write counts against the iCloud storage of the person who shares.
Scanning prescriptions
If you scan a prescription from the camera, a photo or a PDF, the text is read and interpreted on the iPhone itself (with Vision and, when available, on-device Apple Intelligence). The image is neither stored nor sent anywhere. Nothing detected is saved until you review it and tap Save.
Permissions the app asks for
- Notifications: to remind you of each dose. Reminders are scheduled on the iPhone itself.
- Camera and photos: only when you choose to scan a prescription.
- Siri and Shortcuts: if you use them, Apple processes your request under its terms.
PDF report
The medication report is generated on the iPhone. It only leaves it if you share it, with the app and recipient you choose.
How long data is kept and how to delete it
Data is kept until you delete it. You can:
- Delete a medication or a patient in the app.
- Delete everything from Settings → Delete all data in the app.
- Delete the iCloud copy from iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Dose Minder.
- Delete the app from your iPhone, which removes the data stored on it.
Because the developer has no access to your data, they cannot view, correct or delete it for you: you control all of this from your devices.
Children
The app lets parents and caregivers track a child's medication. That data is entered by the adult and handled like everything else: only on their devices and in their iCloud.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will publish the new version on this page with its date. If a change affects how your data is handled, we will also explain it in the app's release notes.
